THE NARROW PATH

Dear Readers, it's been ages since I sat behind my laptop to actually write a Blog post but here I am, a few months later excited to type this blog post in anticipation to share what the Lord has placed on my heart. As I sipped my hot coffee today at my work station, the topic "Narrow Path" danced in my head. I thought to myself, Odd isn't it, It wasn't a topic I was preparing to write however I believe it must be of importance and I should pay heed to that tugging and write on it.

Before I delve into this, firstly, let us define Narrow - small in width.

We are all presented with two paths in life, the narrow path and the wide path or the path that seems ordinary and expected of us.

The Narrow path is the life path laid out for believers to walk. Jesus makes it clear that we all stand at a spiritual crossroads, and there are two paths in front of us. The wide path leads to hell. The second, narrow path leads to eternal life in heaven.

What does the Bible say?

1. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

10. James 4:4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

It seems Jesus is making an important point here about the narrow path, and when you read it in context with the rest of the New Testament, that point is clear: Jesus is the only road to heaven, so when we’re told “narrow is the gate” and “narrow is the way,” we’re told that we reach God by following Jesus.

We, as humans, can’t know how the narrow path translates into actual numbers of people who will or who have, throughout human history, chosen the narrow way. But we can know how to take the journey and what it means to live out Jesus’ commands.

The Lord instructed His children to keep on the straight and narrow way by learning the word of God, by studying the scriptures, and applying His word, by praying daily and serving their fellowmen.

Luke 13:23-25 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them. Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’

This scripture then tell us, one day, we will not have the choice to choose which path to take, we will either be elevated to Paradise or thrown into torment.

Presently, while we are living in a very sinful world, challenges to walk the narrow path may arise through friends, co- workers, influencers, family, social media etc. but let us be mindful while yes we are in the world we are not called to be apart of it. Many times, a hard NO to activities that will promote or entertain sin should be given without remorse. It all comes back to, if you are in Christ, you are a new creature, the old things have passed away. Walking the narrow path will require intentionality from you, refocusing your mind to the word of God, living your life humbly and in adoration to your creator, seeking to dwell and fellowship with others, discovering and fulfilling your God given purpose.

I cannot think of a more precise guide in which to live, imagine you were just placed in a maze not knowing which path to take in order come out of victorious, you're just stuck, lost and confused and there seems to be no way out, similarly I think of our life paths as such. We were born into a sinful world, many continue to live in sin and in rebellion to God with Hell being their only destination while the option of a Narrow path is presented as well. The only option is which path we choose to walk. Isn't is amazing that God loves us soo much that he gives us free will and choices.

I pray after you have read this blog post, the Narrow path is the only option you choose, if you have not as yet. Feel free to email me at Godsdesign24@outlook.com for further information on this topic or any related questions you may have.

See you on your way to Heaven! Much Love Meera..
